Affirmations
When I was 21, all I cared about was smoking some pot, playing video games, girls and my band. I didn’t have high aspirations. Most of my free time was spent at low paying jobs, making just enough to pay rent with a few hundred left over. I didn’t know what to do with my time, and it showed.
You get what you desire, as long as you take action towards that goal.
As a man, you should have a long-term plan. Without a map, you will be blown about by the whims of others. If you think that everything will just work out, it won’t. Even if you’re born rich, without purpose, you will leave this world full of regret.
To achieve a long-term goal, you have to implement a daily ritual. For me, this is a cup of coffee at my favourite café, and then about four hours spent writing, marketing and answering client emails. Then I go to the gym.
Last year I told myself I would make $50k from my business. I made 40. My five year plan is to have a million dollars in the bank. I want my business to be thriving, and to have at least two books published. At this point, I already have one. I also want to be in great shape, in great health, and have the ability to travel anywhere, anytime I desire, without losing my job or income.
Picture your future, one year, five years, and ten years ahead. Imagine what you look like and feel like. What sort of women do you date? How much money do you have? What does your lifestyle look like? Then, imagine that you already have this. Put yourself in this situation.
When I run, I repeat certain phrases like, “I make fifty thousand dollars a year,” “I’m attractive to everyone,” “My work is successful and respected,” “I’m good to my friends and family.” I have a list of affirmations.
Repeating affirmations realigns your subconscious with your goals. It helps to build your inner game, and asks the universe to manifest your desires.
Life will keep moving on, with or without you. All you have to do is ask it for help.
