Danger Exists Always. Oh Well.
Life is Full of Danger
At the time of this writing I’m on the beautiful island of Koh Tao, a scuba diving resort in the south of Thailand. Every morning I wake up, take a swim in the ocean, work on my blog for an hour, eat some Thai breakfast, work some more, eat some more.
Then I go meet international tourist girls.
Actually, I don’t, “go,” anywhere. I just meet them anyway. It’s not hard here. It’s pretty freakin awesome.
Except there’s a dark side to this place.
Two weeks ago, a couple of tourists were brutally murdered on the beach. A young, beautiful girl, and a young handsome man. And they haven’t yet caught the killers.
My friends ask me, “Tony. Why would you go somewhere so dangerous?”
Koh Tao is one of easiest places to meet women in the world. There are just so many international travellers coming and going every day, that a man with any social skills and the ability to approach can have a great adventure here.
Also, it isn’t dangerous. Los Angeles is dangerous. Baseball is dangerous. Alcohol is dangerous.
Thailand is fun
But, women are scared right now. They aren’t walking alone, they aren’t as open as usual, because of a very strange and horrific crime.
How does this affect me, my vacation, and my passions?
Not at all.
You can choose to focus on the darkness, or choose to focus on the light.
I respect the dead, and feel for their loved ones, but bad things happen to good people all the time. We hope that we have a good, safe life, but nothing is guaranteed.
So when things are dark, release your focus from the bad times. Stop reading the news, stop focusing on the negative, because you only have so much time on this planet.
Tomorrow might be your last day. Would you have any regrets?
