What is Creativity? The Lazy Artist Will Die Sad
I’m addicted to self-expression. I’m also addicted to absorbing the expression of others. I love art, music, literature, magazines, blogs, paintings, comics, cartoons…women. Yes…all of us are creators in some capacity.
The act of seduction, in an obtuse way, is art. Even the drunken frat boy, screaming from his beer bong perch is an actor in his own play. He may not know he’s a character…he may not know much of anything. Anyway.
For me, this blog is art. It’s a means of expression. If I write every day, I reinforce the creative pathways behind my skull. Every time somebody absorbs my expression, I’m rewarded, fulfilled, validated.
Do you want to keep a woman loyal and happy? Fuck her like your performing Bach in E minor. Be a poet, a scandal, a Picasso. Make sex your experiment. Make sex art.
Expression Received + Appreciation = Joy
Sharing art is essentially sharing soul; it’s tough to quantify but manages to deliver emotional information. Not just information.
Saying “I like you” in all its various forms…perhaps through a thoughtful aphorism, a poem, a song, a story, a compliment, a slap on the ass, a text message, a makeout on the hood of a strangers car while the alarm blares and dogs howl…is expression. This is art.
Spiritual growth is not logical. No algorithm alone will attract women, or money, or muscles, or love
When was the last time you created something worthy of sharing? When you are bone dust, will your great grandkids have anything to say about you? Are you a mere internet drone dissolving your brain, absorbing the work of genius while your own creativity shrivels like slug in the sun?
Some people paint, some host parties, some take off their clothes and scream from table tops, some hit on girls, some knit quilts, some write books that sell millions. We all do it for the same reason, because:
Making Things Happen For Others Makes Us Feel Awesome and Special
And at the same time, we are COMPLETELY VAIN AND SELFISH
And here’s the bitter lesson, the no bullshit truth…everything you ever create will be in vain because…
YOU WILL BE DEAD IN A FEW SHORT YEARS
And whether it’s cancer, or a car accident, a meteorite, or a stroke…the ability to laugh at your own demise will only arrive from a deep comprehension that life is random, swirling, chaos: and quite possibly meaningless. At least experience the pleasure of being human by utilizing our incredible and unique capability:
The Ability to Create
Why do actors and rockstars suck people in like black holes? Because they have the guts, the faith to shout at the world, to break the silence of lies like:
Go to college and everything will be alright
Don’t color outside the lines
Marriage is normal and expected
North America is the best place to live
The Government never lies
Women only like tall, handsome men.
Do you admire the rich and famous? So why aren’t you one of them? Is it privilege? Is it good looks? Is it wit and talent?
Yes…all of the above. But here’s the secret to unlocking the human experience.
You Create Your Reality
Unless you’re a paraplegic handicap born in a warzone and sold into sex slavery…you have the option of creating your lifestyle.
Look…I’m no friggin guru. I drink too much, I stand on street corners and hit on women, I play too many video games and don’t make enough money. I barely finished high school and dropped out of college after four months. My father was a drug addict. I had man boobs and was severely depressed. I procrastinate. I eat sometimes eat bad food. I like to smoke weed at night.
But my life is awesome, because I make art.
People pay me thousands of dollars to motivate them, educate them. But willpower and creativity aren’t data transfers. You need to cultivate your own. You can find inspiration all around if you look to the art of others.
The More You do Something, The Harder it is to Stop Doing it
I don’t mean smoking meth, (although that could be art if documented properly). But let’s say you want to get better at approaching women and having amazing conversations, or makeouts or quick sex. You need to develop that muscle through repetition.
When you do something that helps you grow, it’s so rewarding you won’t want to stop for fear of losing momentum. And then after all your hard work you’ll see results, and pride, self-worth, and self-esteem will fill the void formerly jellied useless by long nights of pointless television, video games and masturbation (in whatever form that takes). Repeating those absorber tasks will reinforce bad habits. You want to reinforce good habits. There’s a time and place for relaxation…after the work is done. Escapism is a reward, not a lifestyle.
Don’t be a Life Wanker
Oh yeah…we’re gonna die. We’re gonna get old. We’re gonna break down like discarded and abused meat dolls.
When I’m watching the light fade and contemplating the universe in all its infinite strangeness, I’ll know that at least I made something that somebody somewhere could find worthwhile and useful.
If you want to excel in this short life you will need to struggle. Greatness isn’t a cheap bottle of wine squeezed from a box; It’s the process of accepting pain, fear and even humiliation as education. To realize the future reality that you imagine, you’ll need to get off your ass and make it happen. You need to take action. Nobody will do this for you.
Life Is a Struggle. You Will Find No Joy in Complacency
You hate your job but…oh well. You are single and lonely but…oh well. You’re out of shape, broke and bored…oh well. Everything will be alright…someday. One day in the distant future where things are better.
But here you are…right now.
I’m not crafting this article for common people. I don’t want common readers. I want us all to be great artists. I want us all to have success in life, dating, health, wealth. But in order to achieve a level greater than “ok” we’re going to need to step up our game and grind deeply into our plaguing issues.
Artists dig. The great artists’ love their work; they embrace the fear, they express themselves and accept all criticism with open arms and self-deprecating laughter. That’s why I love women…they foster your creativity and fuel your drive. They will criticize you truthfully when everyone else lies because they are so used to being lied to. They find weak men humorous and pathetic. Get to know these girls and encourage these stories of lesser men.
Is Love Art?
The Heart Is Puzzling. Our greatest philosophers can’t figure out what the hell love really is. Some people blame the universal energies, others blame biology. Since we will never figure it out, why not express it boldly? Interpret it through action. Make something happen that affects others.
As for me I’m going to continue shaping my world to be something more than normal. I want something spectacular and extraordinary. I hope the same for you; that would be cool too.
Leave comments! They get me out of bed early.
love your blog!
do you think you could have handled the whole woman thing without getting a surgery for removing your man boobs?
i had them too. and they really sucked. those things affected my whole life in a really negative way.
Hey thanks Wrestling. Yeah I would have still done well, but would have been bloacked from ultimate confidence.
I learned to clear my mind of negative self imagery and destructive thoughts. So I definitely would have been ok. I’m still glad I got that odd stuff taken care of.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
Good read.
I think I’ve just given up on trying for women in Vancouver. I’ve lived in other countries for a large part Of my life and traveled a lot, I’ve slept with women from over 10? different countries.
I’ve had some great experiences with some beautiful and interesting women, but not here?? I don’t know why but VanCity and the women here and me just don’s seem to gel.
Budgie. That’s not a good attitude man. 🙄
You can’t just sit around and not have any women in you life and blame it on Vancouver.
Tony D
Vancouver sucks as far as meeting women goes. That’s just my opinion that I reached having travelled to around 20 countries and having slept with women from I think probably 14? different nationalities.
The last girlfriend I had in Vancouver was from Korea, as was the one before that. Before her a Dutch girl.
PS, I like reading your blog. Did you do any travelling?
I have only travelled within Canada, but I’m aiming to fix that real soon.
I’ve heard Vancouver is tough. People here can be spoiled, and way too laid back. I don’t know why. I’ve heard from other coaches that girls here are tougher than other cities. But don’t let that stop you.
I find your blog great, but to go out so much and approach women it’s like a full time job.
I’m not dealing with them at all anymore (not even trying and I am turning down those who approach me) and I live a life free of drama. Nothing it’s better than a monk’s life haha.
Wow. I’m so glad I found your article. Things are happening in my life right now that I didn’t expect to have to go through at 23 and it’s shaking my world to rubble. I’ve struggled with mental illness since 15 and have always sought solace in my art and poetry. It’s hard to get to work most days (both my job and my art) but it’s true what you said – willpower and creativity need to be cultivated. I used to think that I could only create when “it” hit me blah blah. It helps when I feel inspired but as artists we can’t rely on that. This shit takes hard work and dedication like anything else. I don’t really know the point to this comment… I guess I’m just thankful I stumbled upon your article today. Life’s been tough lately and I want to give up most days, but there’s even things to create out of awfulness.
Thank you for writing.
I hope you take care,
Shelley
Hi Shelley. Thanks for commenting. Though this is primarily a men’s advice blog, I think developing creativity and producing art is one of the most rewarding endeavours. Other than full makeouts at family barbeques.
