Yes, Do Talk To That Woman Who Is Wearing Headphones
So today I noticed a spike in my traffic (and a little bit of hate mail) to an old article I wrote called “How Do I Approach A Girl With Headphones In?”
It turns out the mainstream media outrage conglomerate are back at it with a barrage of articles aimed at a blog called “The Modern Man” over an article titled “How To Talk To a Woman Who Is Wearing Headphones.”
Twatter is also flipping its shit over this article.
I have a similar article ranking on the first page of Google, so AbsoluteAbility is receiving a little bit of that traffic.
I used to be a little worried over these online outrages. But now I sort of look forward to them.
They’re so predictable. People are so gullible. Every time these pedlars of fear come after us, they just increase our product and book sales. The media doesn’t give a shit about women’s safety. All they want is for the outrage to spread so they can cash their check. After all, they’re paid in clicks.
Is there really nothing more interesting to publish? Look at the sites who are going after this guy: The Huffington Post, The Guardian, Vice, Metro, the Independent. Really? These mainstream media outlets have nothing better to sick their journalists on? An article encouraging men to approach women with headphones in? They must really be desperate for readership dollars if they consider this news worthy.
So, how do you approach a woman who is wearing headphones?
Should you assume every woman in the world who wears headphones doesn’t want to be chatted up? How do you know which women might be receptive, and which won’t?
It’s simple:
Who cares. Do it anyway.
It’s better to ask forgiveness than permission in this case.
It’s not like pickup tips on the Internet are new. The first seduction forums gained massive popularity over a decade ago. A Google search for “How To Approach Women With Headphones” shows pages and pages of advice articles, YouTube videos, podcast episodes and more. Many from mainstream sites like Askmen.com.
So why is the Internet mad now?
It’s simple: It’s all engineered. People aren’t really outraged about this…they’re just doing what they’re told. People are sheep.
I’ve been teaching men how to approach women for nearly a decade. And on any given day, I’d say about 50% of women on the street are either wearing headphones, talking on the phone, or staring into one like a zombie.
If you want to meet a girl and you are afraid to approach her because she’s using her pocket computer, prepare to be single for a long, long time.
Here is the proper way to approach a woman with headphones, Tony D style:
- Wave your hand to get her attention.
- Motion, or “mime” taking headphones out of your ears.
- Say whatever it is you want to say. I prefer a compliment. But it’s up to you.
The trick to avoid being creepy or harassing, or whatever, is to not feel guilty.
This is not illegal. You are not doing anything wrong.
Do not believe the lying, fear mongering media. Fuck the media. Fuck their agenda.
Most women do not mind if you want to talk to them. Most women are incredibly social and friendly. You just need to learn a few skills so that you don’t creep them out. Start by improving your fashion, grooming and style. Then work on your approach so it appears natural and flawless.
Learn how to control your emotions, so that you don’t come off as nervous. Manage your adrenaline. Quiet the chatter in your mind.
The law of state transference states that “Whatever you feel—she feels.”
So if you feel creepy, invasive, or harassing…then so will she.
If you feel happy, confident, and social—then she will feel and adopt that vibe.
Do not let an ounce of guilt or fear infect your soul.
You have my permission to go talk to as many women with headphones in as you want.
Go be social. Go flirt with beautiful women on the street, at a party, wherever. Life is short, so have a great one.
well said. Music is my thing so I’m always so curious about what people are listening to in those headphones. People like talking about music they like. Just don’t be a douche if it’s not your style! Good article!
