The Vancouver Lair: What Happened?
Back in 2009, when I started teaching professionally as a dating coach, The Vancouver Lair (wayback machine link) was the best forum for finding like-minded wingmen, or discussing sticking points in a private, safe, moderated environment.
The Vancouver Lair also hosted talks for travelling dating coaches from around the world.
I have personally spoken at the Vancouver Lair half a dozen times. I’ve also spoken at the now defunct Montreal Lair, and am a member of numerous others.
All in all, lairs are great not-for-profit resources for men who are looking to improve themselves in dating, and life in general.
But the Vancouver Lair is no more. It has been stolen by a self-serving kid.
I’ll tell you what happened.
If you Google “Vancouver Lair” you are directed to a local coaching website. This coach purchased or was given the Vancouver Lair, took the non-profit group, erased all the data, the history of this forum, and forwarded the link to his own for-profit website.
So, eight years of content…poof, gone. Directed to his website so he can make money off Google searches.
DOUCHEBAG!
This same coach is notoriously self centred. This coach has:
- Tried to doxx me on a public shaming website, in order to ruin my reputation (which is outstanding btw). This was before we met in person.
- Stolen my sales copy, plagiarizing it right off my website. I have proof of this in screenshots.
- Got my friend, another local coach’s meetup.com group shut down through the complaint system. He did so secretly but was ratted out by one of his old students.
- Stolen one of my clients after I made a deal to work on commission. I don’t have proof of this, but I’m sure of it.
And after all this, he asks me to sell him my website. Like I would put my 450+ free articles, and books, and videos, into the hands of this weasel. Not for a million dollars dude.
He has basically been on a campaign to discredit every other coach or institution that he see’s as competition.
It always comes back to you. Karma.
Because I’m friends with industry leaders, and when they ask me about you, I tell them. Actions have consequences. You fuck people over, and it will come back to you.
Abundance mentality isn’t just something you apply to success with women. It also applies to business.
On a personal level, I’ve heard stories about this coach trolling other men by pretending to be a girl on Tinder, and then laughing at the men who show up to the date location.
He embarrassed himself, and dating coaches in general, on national media when he was caught using copy and paste lines from Real Social Dynamics, telling women who rejected him to “Kill themselves.” edit (It was something about used condoms and she should kill her cat or something. It’s still cut n paste RSD nonsense.)
Who knows what else this self-serving, selfish kid, has done to undermine the local community?
Is this the sort of character you would pay for coaching? A self-centered, narcissistic, asshat who would take a public forum, erase it, and drive traffic to his coaching page?
His track record has lead to this. I won’t say his name, because if you are here, then you know who I’m talking about. This kid lacks integrity, and I would never advise anyone to do business with, or hire him. He is not to be trusted.
Not that pickup artists are known for integrity. My own integrity is the only reason I’m not saying his name. But a Google search for Pickup Artist Vancouver, or Dating Coach Vancouver, and you’ll find the guy who isn’t me or Eddy Baller (great guy.)
If you are looking for the Vancouver Lair, all that is left at the time of this posting is a Facebook group, which you can find with a search inside that medium. They are still active, though the group is not what it once was.
Why don’t you start the next men’s group? You don’t have to call it a lair. All you need to do is alter the meta tags, and write a few blog posts like mine with the words, “Vancouver Lair” in the content. You could create a community, rather than destroy one.

Although I’ve never directly dealt with this guy, he comes off as shady and untrustworthy. Lack of integrity. All the stuff he’s pulled over the last year plus the Vancity Buzz scandal has made it more difficult for regular guys to try to approach women, in fear of being shamed or labeled as part of the “street harassment” culture that has been widely publicized as a result of his actions and the spam approach that he advocates for his students. Glad he got all the hate that he received.
Even more cringe worthy is the way he handled the whole VCB scandal. He folded like a deck of cheap cards and apologized / pandered to the main stream media attacks instead of standing his ground and holding frame since he supposedly did nothing wrong, like Roosh did. Not worthy of respect at all as a so called “dating coach.”

He was just mimicking what he saw Julien Blanc do. Apologize profusely. You can see the glib look on his face, and total lack of sincerity. It would have been better if he told the truth, and just said he didn’t give a shit. At least he would have some respect from his peers.

Vancouver Lair still exists as a Facebook Page and Whatsapp Group. There’s also a more active Whatsapp group with a lot of activity. Despicable Jan can only take a url. Not kill a helpful concept. Too bad for those trying to find the real lair though. They are his victims.
I can understand why many folks would be mad at what he did with the Url, but make no mistake…. dude that owned the site CHOSE to sell to Jan. Im willing to bet he probably had an idea about what was gonna happen with the site coz Jan is clearly running a for profit business. This isn’t an attempt to justify what happened…just keeping it honest. In regards to him as a person…I dont know him that well. He seemed pretty cool when I bumped into him at the club a few times but hey…this is Vancouver. People.tend to smile in your face and talk the worst trash behind your back so u never really know…
